Proved that it works? In all the countries that you mentioned there are many examples of people not getting adequate healthcare and having to wait too long to get a procedure and dying while they wait. There are many problems with all these countries healthcare systems just like there are many problems with Americas healthcare. I agree that we need to change health care in some way but this argument for universal health care is not legitimate.

how can you people trust government? a government that bankrupted social security. how can you trust them to run a health care operation. the post office is out of money, all because of this barrack insane obama.

Obama wants whatever will keep him and his friends rich and powerful. And forcing you to buy insurance from health insurance companies fits his plan perfectly.

Because the system they boast as successful, is inefficient at best. One of the problems with government officials is that they usually have good intentions (who doesn't want everyone to have health coverage?), but lack the understanding to really solve a problem. In addition, there is also the issue of serving their own self-interest. They are concerned with re-election - therefore, they have more incentive to pass legislation that is popular, rather than rational, especially if consequences won't be realized until after re-election. When you work for a company that provides health care you are stuck with that health care coverage. If you are unsatisfied with the coverage the options are: buy your own health care, don't have health care, or remain unsatisfied with your current coverage. Because of these limited options health care companies have little incentive to keep costs down, or to even serve the interest of their so-called consumers. If that idea is too radical for you there could be a tax credit for businesses that give a voucher to their employees, thus giving them health care coverage, but giving them many more options.
