How come so many people in the world hate the USA? Did President Bush cause all this hate?

It's not just Bush's fault, it comes from many decades of American arrogance. Too often we have used our massive military power to push people around, usually for not other reason than to bring down gas prices. For example in the 70's there was a huge gas shortage because Israel, and Egypt were fighting with each other and there war was blocking the suz canal. This prevented us from getting oil tankers from the red sea to the mediteranian sea. Today the two biggest receivers of US foreign aid are Egypt, and Israel. We pay them millions of dollars, and give them all the weapons they need in order to keep the suz open. Since Israel knows they have the full support of the US, they basically treat the countries around them however they want, cause they know none of them can mess with them.

good question, u have to study so many thing by so many way, but i think the main problem on Mideast. ur one eye is close on that part.

I think the dislike has always been there, and our recent foreign policy has only aggrivated it more. It might have to do with envy. We all tend to be very privleged, and also are ignorant to the plights of the rest of the world.

No! Bush did not cause the hate. The world started hating us when Bill Clinton reduced the office of Pres. to that of a pervert self gratifying spoiled Little boy stature

My freind, America is hated because of many reasons. First, and historically the oldest reason, we are predominantly a Christian nation. Second, we back up Isreal. That angers the Muslim portion of the world, along with their allies. If it wasn't for our pushing in WWII, Jews would still be scattered abroad and the Palistinians would have the area that Isreal occupies, instead of being reduced to the Gaza Strip. Second, we are one of the only nations in the world who will actually stand up for what they beleive is right(when we have the right leaders, like Bush, who actually does what they say and doesn't back down because the Liberal Media is hurting their ratings.) We are a free nation. And last but not least, we are Numero Uno. We are the superpower of the world. These are just some of the reasons we are hated. Along with the fact the the Socialist Party of America(Liberals) promotes anti American propaganda and tries to undermine our leadership at every turn.

You know...I think you should run for President, since you Obviouly know when to end a war better then bush does(NOT) If the most of the world hated the US they would take us out, but the fact is we have friends and enemys we always have, always will, North Korea doesn't like us, Russia does, France doesn't like us Britan does...

Lots of people hate the USA. No President Bush nor any prior president, Democrat or Republican, caused the hate. People without are always going to emulate,envy,then ultimately hate people that have more than they.

With respect you never leave Michigan, so how can you gauge how people around the world view the USA? I do travel a great deal and in the last 12 months have been in the middle east, Africa, and south east asia (including Indonesia which is the worlds largest muslim country). I am very proud of my association with the U.S and talk about it very openly, and of course my passport has a very large U.S business visa dominating it. I find overwhelmingly that people are incredibly warm towards the American people and very interested in what life is like over there. Some people disagree with policy, particularly with regard to Iraq, but unlike people on this forum express it maturely and thoughtfully, rather than in vitriolic personal rants. American culture is pervasive and your T.V shows, food brands, cclothing and music are found everywhere, particularly amongst the young Dust off your passport and go travel, and you will find that the world isn't anywhere near as hateful of the U.S as you think it is. It only seems to be middle class psuedo intellectual suburban Americans who hate the USA with such passion......and that is really sad.
