What is wrong with 'Communism'??????

  • I just wonder why people are so against idea of communism??? I'm a bit dim , when it comes to politics and governments, so excuse me if i sound like a complete idiot. I thought the aim of Communism was to create a classless society , where everyone is equal and isn't that what our present society is trying to achieve now? , a society where everyone is equal. So i don't really understand why idea of communism is seen as bad or evil??? Is there something am i missing??? Why is communism is always potrayed as an negative thing???

    There's nothing wrong with communism. There's something wrong with people that won't allow themselves to be "classless." We have a "be better than the Jone's" society. You could never get most people to take a communist attitude. That's why it didn't work in Russia. Most people don't understand the full meaning of communism because of what propaganda has taken place in the last century.

Communism isn't about being equal. Communism just means no one is allowed to own anything, and the government decides who gets what and who does what.

Mostly because where ever communism has been implemented as a political system it has almost instantly turned to oligarchy and effective totalitarianism / dictatorship. It seems that communism is inherently prone to such abuse because of it's emphasis on the group or the collective as being the fundamental social unit rather than the individual, which is why it doesn't float my boat!

Communism is a wonderful idea. However, it doesn't fit in with human nature. Mankind is fundamentally motivated by greed and any altruistic system finishes up being run by and for the corrupt leadership. Capitalism on the other hand is a lousy idea. It assumes that everyone's on the make. It works just fine.

It doesn't work....it's against the idea of civil rights and personal freedoms.

the idea of communism is good, everyone being equal and working for the overall benefit of the community rather than themselves, but this just does not work in practise. If you were a doctor earning the same wage and living in the same conditions as a toilet cleaner- what motivation is there for you to better yourself?

Why is communism is always potrayed as an negative thing??? Well let's see, show me a Communist society that works. Communism isn't about equality it's about a government who thinks for you, tells you what you can and can't do and takes and distributes (allegedly evenly, but not so). Personally I like my freedom and while I think our government lately is getting far too much into my personal life, it still is under a checks and balance system. Unlike communism
