What are the "disqualifying mental disabilities" for government jobs?

Why doesn't the government wake up? A turn-around would be easy for this country.?

• Entitlements are the main problem this country is facing. Food stamps, disability, unemployment, and all other welfare are the problems. I don’t think we should do away with all of those things, but the system definitely needs to be overhauled. Here are a couple simple changes that would have a huge impact: Food stamps should only buy bread, sandwich meat, and water. I’m tired of seeing the “poor underserved” people at the grocery store with 2 carts loaded down with T-bones, crab legs, potato chips, candy, and coke. They are getting thousands of dollars a month, and eating WAY better than me (I work for an honest living, and like most, I can’t afford to spoil myself the way they do). Disability should only be paid to those with true disabilities. I think of disabilities as unfortunate circumstances that are out of a person’s control, and truly hinders them from performing any type of “work.” People with true disabilities should receive assistance because there is no other option. Alcoholism and obesity (to name a couple) result from bad choices people consciously make, and should not be considered a disability (rewarding people for bad behavior is bad right?). People who have ADD, a “bad knee,” obesity, etc, etc. are not completely incapable of work in most cases. An obese person or a person with a “bad knee” may not be able to work as a manual laborer, but I bet they could drive a truck or have a desk job. A person with ADD is perfectly capable of 90% of jobs out there. I believe there is a place for unemployment. People that are laid off due to circumstances out of their control should not starve before they can find another job. But it should be limited to 1-3 months. Receiving unemployment benefits for years is absurd. There are plenty of jobs out there. Maybe not the best jobs, but people can get a job at McDonalds or some other low wage job at will. Low wage positions are always hiring. The problem is people make more drawing unemployment checks than they would working these jobs, so there is no incentive to work for low wage. People think they are above jobs like these as well. “Working my way up” is a forgotten tool. People want everything handed to them. These days everyone is taught to believe how great they are and that they DESERVE only the best. This is BS, we aren’t all “that great,” and many of us need to accept that we have a role that isn’t as flashy as others. What has happened today is that our country has a large population of people that are 100% dependent on the entitlement programs, and are perfectly happy with living their entire lives with entitlements being their only source of “income.” In order to receive the vote of this large population, politicians have to promise, and deliver, entitlements to keep their lifestyle sustainable. Voting is effectively this population’s career. They are voting themselves massive benefits, and voting this country in to a collapse. It’s so blatant, yet no one sees it.

  If the people are goverment dependent then the goverment has control it is that simple. Some politicians even buy thier votes by giving more to the goverment dependents.
