Do I need a airport transit visa to Spain?

Do I need an airport transit visa?

  • Hey guys, I'm a Colombian citizen with permanent residence in the United States. I will be visiting Spain next month (I already have my Schengen Visa, Single Entry for Spain) and one of the flights I plan to buy has a stop in Paris. So I wasn't sure if i need a transit visa while im in the airport or not.

  • Answer:

This is an unusual question since the Schengen visitor/tourist visa procedures require to provide the flight itinenary and reservation to be added to the visa application. So you would have at first needed to sort out the flights and afterwards apply for the visa. Anyhow, if you have gotten a visa from Spanish authorities which shows the validation (first column) "Estados Schengen" you can enter the Schengen zone at any country. In your case you will pass immigration control in Paris and your flight from Paris to Spain will be like a domestic flight without any further governmental immigration controls.. http://www.maec.es/subwebs/Embajadas/Bogota/es/MenuPpal/Directorio/Paginas/directorio_embbogota.aspx ..
