Do you need a re entry permit?

I need help regarding my re-entry permit???

I applied for a re-entry permit last Mar.15,07 and they told me to wait for updates. Last April 15, I expedite my application with return letter.. But until now they didn't response my letter.... I need to go to the Philippines this June to continue my college. I'm so worried now. I plan to leave the 3rd week of May. What shall I do? please help me..

US law does not require that you have the Re-entry Permit in your possession when you depart the US.
