Problem faced at passport police enquiry. Please suggest what to do.?

I applied for passport on Dec7th 2010 at vijayawada R P O. Police came for verification around 14th. At that time iam not at home.i went kakinada attend a function.i studied in kakinada.and my course completed 2years back.iam residing in chirala from completion and going to kakinada if any work is there.now this police came to my home and asked about me.my mom said to him that he will come in two days.this police send a report that he is not residing here.when i contacted police he tells me that i can't do nothing now.you'll get showcause notice after 3 months.website showing my file number wrong or not available like that. What i have to do now? Now a days every one search for their jobs for coaching etc. How can they present at home all the time? Don't know what to do now. Please suggest.
