How much is it to renew my UK passport?

How do i get a Brirish person to sign my application form for a UK passport renew if i live in us?

• I need to send off my application for a UK passport to Washington DC (im living in california) and part of the application requires a british citizen to sign section 9 confirming they have known you for more than 2 years and and also sign your photo to say the photo is a true likeness...but if im in the US how do i get a UK citizen to sign the application? and they have to put their passport number to confirm identity and have a good job??? help please!!!

  You need to re-read the notes with the application form - it also says if you don't know a British or Commonwealth citizen, a citizen of the country you reside in who has known you for 2 years or more and has professional standing (lawyer, doctor, teacher, police etc) will do Read Note 7 on page 2 http://centralcontent.fco.gov.uk/resources/en/pdf/central-content-pdfs/form-c1-notes .
