Where is "place of issue" on UK passport?

Where is the "Passport issue place" on your passport?

  • Hi all, Im applying for a ESTA travels Visa for visa waiver online and it asks for 'Passport issue place', it says FCO on my passport and i dont know what that means.. Im a british Passport Holder Thanks in advance

  • Answer:

Such question is not asked on the official ESTA application website of the U.S. Government! You probably have entered one of the hundreds of commercial bogus websites which ask for additional fees or just want to grab your passport details. The official U.S. ESTA website only asks for "Passport Issuing Country" which will be "United Kingdom" in your case. It normally tells you the passport office that issued it on the picture page. If it says FCO there, that stands for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Not sure why it would say that though.

It actually is asking for the town and country where it was issued to you. Sometimes a passport could be issued by your embassy in another country of you lost yours there and they got another for you. It is just a procedure to keep proper records and track of citizens.
