How do I become a UN translator?
-
What are the requirements and what is the pay like?
-
Answer:
You would first have to become qualified as a translator or interpreter in your own country and get National qualifications in your language. Generally you would need a couple of languages, and maybe a tertiary degree. You would then have to apply to the UN, and be accepted for a position. Pay rates can vary from voluntary work to being paid above the national rate with benefits like travel, accomodation allowances etc.

I think you can just call them up cuz there are various ways and depending on what you want to be a translator for, the salary will be different. Of course, the more languages you know, the better.
