Bangladesh Visa For UK Citizen?

I need a visa to travel to Bangladesh for 1month to 6 month visa. I am white British from UK with British Passport. I wish to travel to Bangladesh to visit my partners family and friends. What visa do i need? Can i get a general visa or a tourist visa? How long does it take? I need it asap. What is the quickest way to get this? It all seems so confusing with all the documents and papers you need to have. Also it says i need a hotel reservation, however i will be staying with his parents?? So confused what do i do? Please help.

I think you would get almost all the answers to your question if you take the time to go to the High Commissioner or Consulate office of Bangladesh in London. There are a few cases like you where the wife is from UK (White-whatever that means) and the partner/hubby is from our country. All the thing they would ask you is to make sure whether you are travelling on genuine ground. About the Hotel reservation, I can tell you that this may be the recent phenomenon since China also asks such kind of reservation even though we need to visit many cities. What we do is ask our Customers (we do export to China) to book hotel for us for a few days and send the details by courier to submit the same along with our Visa application. No one in China checked whether we stayed in that hotel for full period of our stay or not. Same would apply here too. All these restrictions and checking and asking for loads of documents arose after the p/11 incidents. People would refrain from visiting countries since lots of obstacles are created in every step of the visit. I am canadian i traveled to bangladesh with my canadian passport and no i dont think u need any visa??!! u can go anytime just book a flight!
