How long does an H1B stamping interview last?

H1b visa sponser asking Rs 1.5 lakh deposit?

• Hi, My H1b Visa sponsor is asking 1.5 lakh Rs as security deposit. If i clear the h1b interview at embassy then after working for him for 6 months in US it will be refunded but if i am not able to clear interview for stamping then nothign will be returned. Please advice.

  Is that deposit for your company to guarantee that you are going to be with them for a determinate period of time? That sounds like probably they want to be sure that they are investing in you for a long time and that you are going to continue with them for X time. Anyway, that´s weird, because they are not legally allowed to retain any member of their company in that way I think. --- If you want my opinion --- Don´t come under an H1 visa!! unless you are not married and don´t want to marry any woman from your county with a professional career. Or if your country is very bad that you don´t want to be there anymore.. I´m telling you this because I´m under an H4 visa (H1´s dependent) and really want to get back into my country but nowadays the economical situation worldwide is not the best... so, i don´t want my husband to quit his job to get back into our county and see what we can get... but believe me... those visas are very restricted, you cannot work for anyone else than your company, your children cannot apply for scholarships and even volunteering is restricted and it takes forever to get an employment authorization. Believe me, if you are married or are planning to get married with someone from your own country think twice... it´s not mentally healthy to make your spouse quit and come to the us to do nothing... it´s not the best experience ... i used to have a great job in my country and it´s almost 1 and a half year here doing nothing... frustrating!
