What are the US military doing in South Korea?

What is going to happen to korean illegal immigrants in US if US include South Korea in the Visa Waiver Pro.?

  • I heard we are going to include South Korea in the VWP, What is going to happen to korean illegal immigrants in US if US include South Korea in the Visa Waiver Program? Are they allowed to deport back to South Korea and come back right away? How can they receive US VWP if they came to US illegally at first place?

  • Answer:

VWP does not have anything to do with the status of illegal immigrants. If they are overstayers they will face 3- or 10-year ban for re-admission

Nothing will happen to them. They'll still be illegal. They will never be eligible to travel under the VWP. Once a person overstays, 1 time, that person is banned from the VWP for life.

If they are here illegally, they are and will continue to be deportable. They can not adjust status while being illegal, they can never use the VWP to enter the United States, and they very likely will never qualify for a visa to enter the United States legally.
