How does a mexican national get a tourist visa?

Mexican Citizens: How did you get your US Tourist Visa?

• My fiance is a Mexican citizen. Since we do not intend to apply for his US citizenship immediately following the wedding, we would like to apply for his tourist visa so we can still visit my family in the US. We have heard a million suggestions for how to go about this- from "transfer more property into your name," to, "make your first visit to the US on a transit visa on your way to another country so they'll see you do not intend to stay in the US" .... and a million more. Rather than hear suggestions like this, we would like to hear how you (MX Citizen) got your tourist visa to visit the US. Also- please, we are not looking for any shady or unethical suggestions.

  The US wants to be sure your husband will return to Mexico. A friend and neighbor of mine had his brother visit him. His brother gave proof that the thriving business he had going in Mexico could not be transferred up here thereby showing that he had excellent reasons to return to Mexico. If there is anyway that your husband can show he has good reason to return to Mexico it makes thing a lot easier.
