How long does it take to get passport in india?

How can i get my damaged indian passport reissued or repaired in a day?

• I need to travel in a weeks time but the lamination of my passport is coming off. I had an issue at the Finnish embassy when I was applying for my visa and they said (on request) that they can issue the passport at my own risk. They said this because although they know that it is a genuine defect in the manufacturing process of the Indian passports, the immigration officers in Finland might not be so considerate and ask me to take the next flight back to India without letting me enter the country. I have this week to actually apply for my UK visa, therefore if I can use one day to get my passport repaired, then I can apply for my UK visa. I need to know if there is ANY way, more money, tatkaal, any way to get the Passport office to reissue or repair the damaged passport in a day?
