How many countries come in Schengen?

Which consulates in UK accept Schengen Visa applications for people with UK Student Visitor Visa?

• My UK student visitor visa (6 month, multiple entry ) will expire on October 28. I was hoping to travel throughout some of the Schengen countries during the first 3 weeks of July. In that way, I'll have 3 months on my UK visa when I come back to London. Apparently the French Consulate in the UK does not issue visas for people with visas of duration less than 6 months. Is there any other consulate, German/Italian which does? Thank you!

  The rules are the same for all countries in the Schengen zone. You should also apply to the Embassy of the country you want to go to first, or are going to spend the most time in. I would guess that with a 6 month visa you aren't going to have much luck - I just looked up the German Embassy in London and they won't process a visa application for anyone who doesn't have a UK residence permit, and a short-stay student visa probably doesn't count.
