Kenya visa?

In U.S Embassy of Kenya is the CR1 visa processed?

  • Somehow my Husband seems to think, that they don't process the CR1 or have the CR1 visa in the U.S Embassy of Kenya... Ofcourse I said they process it because thats the main visa category for the spouse of a U.S Citizen, besides the K-3 which needs for later adjustment... So please explain, and show proof thank you so much!

  • Answer:

No "proof" is necessary. CR-1/IR-1 is processed at the US consulate in Kenya. http://nairobi.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas.html IMMIGRANT VISAS IMPORTANT NOTICE US issues alert on Green Card fraud – The Sunday Nation 20 February 2011 New Visa Application System As announced earlier this week, the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi is in the process of implementing a new system to make the visa application process faster, simpler and less stressful for Immigrants securing family-based, employment-based and Diversity visas. Under the new procedures, applicants will be able to schedule or re-schedule an immigrant visa appointment (Including K-1 and K-3 visas) via a new website at http://kenya.usvisa-info.com or through the assistance of a new call center at (+254 20) 500 6656 (in Kenya) or +1 703 439 2302 (in the United States). Applicants must ensure that a DHL location has been selected at the time an appointment is scheduled. This service is of no additional charge to our applicants. Immigrant visa applicants will continue to pay for any required visa fees at the U.S. Embassy cashier. The new system became operational on Tuesday, April 5, and unfortunately we are experiencing several technical problems during the transition period. Those contacting the call centers have faced long wait times and there have been problems registering through the Internet site. We apologize for these inconveniences. Please be assured that we are aware of these problems and are working diligently to resolve them. We anticipate that the system will be functioning properly soon. Thank you for your patience as we seek to improve the visa experience for all Immigrant Visa applicants.
