Business Trip and Vacation to Bali, Indonesia (worried with the Philippine Immigration Officer)?
-
Im going to visit Bali, Indonesia on the last week of August2011.My boss booked a ticket for me Manila to Singapore via Tigerairways and Singapore to Bali,Indonesia via Airasia. Both were booked from different websites. I already have my return tickets and a copy of a hotel booking. My question is,aside from my Singapore ticket, do i also need to show or present my ticket going to Indonesia to the Philippine Immigration officer? I will be travelling because we have a company staff training event in Bali. And I will be travelling alone from Manila to Singapore , then Singapore to Bali because the rest of the Company staff will be coming from different countries (they are not Filipinos). And also, what documents do I need to present to the immigration officer (aside from passport and return tickets)? This is not my first travel abroad. I've been to Singapore twice but I always had a very hard time at the immigration, they always ask personal questions and this makes me feel uncomfortable and nervous at the same time. My first travel to Singapore was 'ok' but the second time I was held at the immigration office. The lady IO said that I do not have all the necessary documents needed. I have a hotel booking at that time and a return ticket , and take note i will only be staying for two days but they did not let me through. I almost cried... I was hopeless and feeling frustrated at that time that I still stayed at the airport until the plane left NAIA...so I went home. I told my boss about it (the reason of my travel is to attend a Company gathering that was held in Marina Mandarin Hotel) and I missed that special event. When my boss understand what happened, he booked another ticket for me. Then I went back to the airport the same day, holding my passport, hotel booking and the 'new' return ticket for Singapore trip.My heart was beating fast and I feel really nervous. When it is my turn to the counter, I handed my passport to the IO. He asked for my flight ticket ,hotel booking and company ID. then asked how many days i am staying, I answered politely and he stamped my passport. Then I was almost at the boarding gate when a lady IO stopped me. He asked me fill out a form, so I did. Then he looked at my passport and the form and said 'Kala ko kase minor ka.. sige okay na yan.." I smiled and thanked her.. So, this is the reason why I am so concerned with my next travel but this time its Indonesia. And I do not know if the immigration officers will ask the same question like they did before.. And I think I was traumatized because of what happened to me... being held at the immigration, been asked personal questions, etc... that was really unforgettable and traumatic experience for me.. sorry if I sound too sensitive but this is the fact. I am really worried for my next travel so I would like to hear any suggestions from any one of you, any comment or suggestions will be very much appreciated... and sorry for my poor english too :) Again, I need to know what documents do I need to bring for this business trip, do i need to present both of the return tickets for Manila - SIngapore and Singapore to Indonesia flight to the IO ? Thanks in advanced.
