Can I work in France without a visa if I'm British?

Do i need a letter from DDTEFP when applying for long visa for Internship in France?

• Im a university student and found an Internship 12months in france, I assume I need a long visa, do I need the DDTEFP authorisation letter inorder to apply for the visa? Am I considered to be student Internship or for work purpose?Im a non EU citizen. I assume that it is very difficult for the company to apply for the DDTEFP letter for me and it's a long proccess?

If you get paid, you need to apply for a work visa whereas if you are not paid, you need an internship visa. About the duration, no idea but it's never very quick with the adminstration...
