Acceptance letter and Canadian Student Visa?

Can i still get french long stay visa without DDTEFP letter?

• i am student doing a student placement with large company in france, they gave me the conventional agreement letter signed b/w company, university and myself, aswell as university letter and company acceptance letter, the frence embassy said i need the DDTEFP authorisation letter, AND the company keep telling me to go apply for the titre de sejour visa without the DDTEFP letter. i booked the appointment with the emabssy for the visa in london, what are my chances of getting the visa? is there cercumstances where i dont need the DDTEFP?the conventional agreement also stated the i remains as a student during my placement. is that why?
