What's the problem with asylum seekers?

Australia: whats so bad about asylum seekers?

  • seriously, the magority of aussies must be moronic! like 2000 people a year? they have every right to shelter, food and a 1st world life.

  • Answer:

There are a few ignorant Australians who object to all immigrants, however they come here but the majority of Australians only object to the ones you're asking about because they're not genuine asylum seekers and have bypassed many safe havens on the way to Australia. They are economic migrants who are jumping the immigration queue ahead of law abiding people who have been waiting for years in refugee camps while they undergo processing by the UN and Australian authorities. Australia takes in thousands of refugees every year, but there is an annual quota because of the fact that they must be provided with housing and facilities not provided to other classes of migrants - every so called asylum seeker we accept takes a place from another refugee who has done the right thing and waited for a place in the program.

They have every right to attempt to provide themselves shelter, food and a 1st world life in their OWN countries. They have NO right to expect the civilized world to provide it for them. NONE.
