How can I get EU tourist visa?

  • I am living in New York. I have the Green Card and the Chinese passport. I would like to go to European for 2 weeks with my girl friend. I knew American citizens don't need EU tourist visa. Do I need to have the EU tourist visa? If I do, where I can get the European Union tourist visa?

    YES You will need a Schengen Visa. You can travel to any country in the European Union except for Bulgaria, Cyprus, Ireland, Romania and the U.K. with this visa. You will have to apply for the visa with the country where you plan on spending the most time in. If on a multi-national tour of Europe you will have to apply with the country where you first plan entering the Schengen Zone of nations. For example, if you plan on going to Spain for a week and then go to Portugal and France for a few days you will apply with the Spanish consulate in New York. If you plan on spending two days in Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Austria and you flight from the U.S. first lands in Lisbon, then you will apply with the Portuguese consulate in NY. Contact the consulate that you feel would be the nation you will spend the most time in or will be your port of entry.

There is no such thing as an EU tourist visa. There are 27 countries in the EU. Each of those countries have their own rules about visa etc, that's if your an American citizen. You can travel to Europe and be there for 90 days without a visa. You could apply for a schengen visa. Since you have a Chinese passport you have to apply to each European country for a tourist visa. Contact Embassy of that particular country you wish to visit in Europe.
