What is an I-20 Visa?

Do the counsellor of F1 visa keep the I20 and passport with him or just the passport?

Well I just passed my visa interview and I got accept it but when the counsellor gave me back my documents I didnt pay attention to my I20 so when i check my Documents I didnt find it . do u think he kept it with the passport? can I get it back after? thanks

actually, it was probably just a mistake. there's no need to keep the I-20 for the information. that should all have been entered prior to the interview. since you need it to actually enter the US, I'd recommend getting in touch with the consular section right away to see if they actually have it and intend to return it. if not, you'll need to contact your school to get a new one right away.
