How to be an Indian Ambassador or get job in Indian Ambassey or consulate in foreign country?

  • Hello My brother is in SSC and he is interested to work in Indian Ambassey or consulate located in foreign country. So I have few question in regards to that 1) what is the process and which exam he needs to give & what is rest of process? 2) Is this job transferable and has to face frequent transfer like IAS officers? 3) If one gets job in Indian ambassey located in foreign country then he/she has to stay in that country till retirement or keep getting transferred in different ambassey of different countries.? 4) Do Indian govt. provide any facilities, like stay of employee of Indian ambassey of foreign country and education of children of employee of Indian ambassey or consulate in foreign country? Please kindly answer my above question in sequence. My brother's decision on going ahead with the aspiration of pursuing this as career will depend on your answer

  • Answer:

Marry the Prime Minister's son/daughter or make massive contributions to the ruling party. The top jobs like Ambassador don't often go to the qualified, professional diplomats. Those guys get the lower ranking jobs. Money and family connections talk.
