Minor Passport Application Error?

Can I go to the D.C passport agency without an appointment?

  • I travel on June 22nd at 10 pm. This is my first time applying for a U.S passport, as my mother and I recently became citizens of the United States. I applied for a passport on June 1st, 2011 and paid for expedited service. Due to an error made by the post office employee, my birth certificate was not included with the application. I received a letter notifying me of that on June 16th, 2011 and I express mailed my birth certificate to the passport center the very next day. I contacted the passport center yesterday (June 19th), and learned that my application is still in processing. I tried making an appointment, but the Washington, D.C Passport center does not have any openings tomorrow for appointments. I need to know if I could still drop-in. ANYONE HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS? please share.
