How do I (U.S. Citizen) get a job at the Indian Embassy or Consulate in Washington, DC?
-
The Embassy nor any of the Consulates list job openings.
-
Answer:
I don't think you can... working at the Indian Embassy or Consulate is working for the government of that country. You realize that once you step through the doors of an Embassy or Consulate it's as if you were in that country... you are no longer on US soil, even if it's in Washington DC.

Not all missions hire local workers. The U.S. does this pretty much everywhere, but the Russians, for example, do not. Your best bet is to call the embassy (202) 939-7000 and ask them if they hire local workers and, if so, where you could find a listing of job openings.
