Can i renew my indian passport while i am in UK?

is it possible to renew a foreign passport in the UK?if so how long does it take? and if there a time limit for my visa (its due to expire next may)

You can and you must renew your passport wherever you are by approaching the nearest Indian Embassy there. There is a form that you will get from there and renew it. It is a very easy process. You must carry with you some latest passport size photos, employment letter from your employer, application for renewal of passport duly completed, Residence/employment permit/visa copies etc etc. You will get the new passport within a week time. Whereas in India if you renew it will take months and months to get it renewed. So do it from foreign countries, specially when your visa is finishing.
