I have three question about immigration to Canada from UK? ....Can you answers any of them?
-
I'm not from UK originally but I might get visa to live there accompanied by my family because my father is getting a work permit from UK and the company has said that it will provide visas for family members of the employees too. I wanted to get student visa from Canada for my post graduate degree but seems that's not an easy work right now from here and I have now 2 chances : 1. Go to UK with my family and apply for immigration visa from UK (though my father might work there for 1 year) and after that maybe we should come back to our own country which is in the middle east. 2. I can get a work permit from one of my relatives who is the citizen of Canada and get a work permit visa from Canada ...but can I then choose there to not work and apply for university with work visa (not student visa) if my relative can sign the papers for my work (indicates that I'm still working there) ? 3. From here in our country it takes between 4 to 7 years to get the immigration visa ( I know all the requirements and I'm sure that I'm eligible to apply for it). But I'm curious to know a)How long does it take form UK or Canada itsself to get immigration to Canada and b)Whether I would be able to go to another country and apply for immigration visa from here (my own country) ...because I actually don't know where would I be in these 4 tp 7 years that getting immigration visa takes and it's a long time... Thank's I would be glad if you can help me,because I want to apply for immigration as soon as possible but I don't know where and how long would I stay in which country during these years that getting immigration visa takes.....HELP PLZ

Hi, My name is George, I work at a Canadian immigraiton firm. Your question is a little confusing but I'm gonna try to fill in the gaps. I'm assuming you are young so that may make it a little more difficult to get you into the country. Canada makes it simple for people with work experience AND a university degree. You will most likely be filing your application from your home country in the Canadian Embassy that is responsible for that country. You can check the list Embassies at http://www.cic.gc.ca In regards to your relative giving you a job, if he lives in Toronto and is offering you a job in "general labour" the application will be refused. If you have a job offer from Alberta that is "general labour" you will get accepted. I'm assuming your uncle lives in Toronto or Montreal .You'll get refused because there is no shortage of work for manual labour. If your uncle creates a position for you which goes beyond manual labour, it will only work if you can prove work experience in that field. Your best bet is to file for a student visa. You will need to have an acceptance from a Canadian university to qualify for a student visa. The approximate cost of tuition for foreigners is $7,000-$13,000 per year (w/o housing). You cannot use a work visa and switch it to something else. You would have to re-apply. If you need any further assistance you are more than welcome to call me at (416)962-2623 or visit our website at http://www.immigroup.com Best of luck, George.

first of all , if you were to apply for a job in a universtiy ? in Canada and being accepted on your student credentials , then more than likely you will be able to post for a job in a university in Canada ,but you will have to find one that is offering a job . as for a work visa for Canada ? you must first find a job in Canada before getting a work visa .even if you have a relative as a citizen of Canada ,it will not help the process . how long will it take ? i have no exact timing for you , it all depends on your country of origin ,background etc. if you would like to come back to give more infos on you ? before you can go to another country , you must also qualify for immigration to that country .

To seek knowledge, one must be willing to ask the right questions. 1. You can go to the UK and apply for a student permit there. 2. Relatives cannot vouch for you nor can they get a work visa. Also a work visa is a bit harder & longer to get than a student visa. 3. A student visa is faster to process than an immigrant visa. The CIC understands the time line for the opening of classes. a) If you are talking about the student visa, then look at my first link. (Actually it is 28 days or less processing time for the middle east and europe and not 7 years) b) With the time frame I just gave you, I bet your student visa will be approved before your Dad gets the work visa to the UK. That is, if your papers are in order. So there you are. I do hope you will be able to come and study here as this is a wonderful country, having such a multi-cultural population. It is like being in so many countries at one time. Bienvenue....Welcome to Canada!**

I doubt there are many immigration experts on this site. I would refer to the Canadian Immigration website for your answers: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp
