Name Change for a US Citizen in the UK?
-
I am moving to the UK directly after getting married in the US. I was wondering how I can change my name from the UK--Name change, passport, other name changes. Is there a way to do all this from the UK? Is the US Embassy in the UK able to do these things? Any suggestions will help. Thanks.

Answer:
I am sure that it can be done. The embassy takes care of replacing lost passports. Be sure that you have all the correct documents before your leave the US. I would think that a certified copy of the wedding certificate would be one. Check out the regional offices in the second source. You should be able to call the nearest you for the most accurate information. The first source has a link to the form that you fill out for a name change.
