Where can I get a power of attorney paper online for free?

How can I get the seal of the US Consulate general in a Power of attorney document?

  • I am and Indian Citizen, but my sibling is a US citizen. After both my parents died, my sibling migrated to US. I am staying back in India. We are both legal heirs of our parents’ land properties. As far as the other person is not in India, I cannot sell any of the properties I have made a Power of Attorney printed in an Indian Stamp Paper. I have then sent to the other person. I need to get the signature of the other person living in Pennsylvania. However, that person has some a physical disability to travel alone up to the US Consulate, which is in Washington DC. Is there any other option to get the Power of attorney sealed from US Consul? Or is there any other option to validate the document. My Local Register officer asks for the seal of US Embassy in the Power of Attorney. They seem do not accept Notary seal. So what could be an alternative?

  • Answer:

I am a bit confused by your question, as it appears you have made some incorrect assumptions. U.S. consular officers and U.S consulates exist only OUTSIDE the U.S. If you needed something notarized for use in the U.S., you could go to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in India that covers your consular district. You would follow the information for U.S. citizen services to find out how to apply for notarial services. For your siblings in the U.S., there are a few possibilities if a regular U.S. notarial seal is insufficient for Indian purposes. You could look into your relatives going to the local Indian consulate for their notarial services (I assume they offer this service). Another option may be Department of State authentication of your relative's local notarial seal. However, since India is a party to the Hague Convention, your state should be able to provide an apostille. Find out if this will be sufficient for your local purposes, and if not, why not.
