What does it take to work for the UN?

What are the steps to take as a high school student to eventually become an UN ambassador?

• Currently I am a freshman in high school and I'm very passionate about human rights issues,and i just got interested in the global aspects of humanitarian work. Right now Im trying to start a club at my school that will help organizations like north korean refugees in china, child abuse around the world, and also because i have a direct contact living in lithunia( my friends grandma) where a lot of parts are very poor and underdeveloped i can directly send money to orphanages and kids in need there. As you can see Im really interested in making an effect globally and I want this to be my job later on. I'm currently in 3 honors classes and i excell in my world history class,have potentially great writing abilities,and in French 2. What are the small steps i should take to eventually work at the UN and become an ambassador? Must I become fluent in common foriegn languages like Spanish? Is it even possible for a girl with no political connections or wealthy family members to ever become an UN ambassador? PLEASE HELP ME! 10 POINTS for the best answer..   I don't exactly have the experience to answer it, but from people at my high school, you probably need: 1) Fluency in at least 2 languages/Foreign language(s). English is probably a requirement. 2) Speech and debate teams would help 3) VOLUNTEERISM, during Summers or if you have time on weekends, and in your case focusing on Humanitarian work, local or int'l 4) Conflict resolution classes 5) Speak to your guidance counselor/mentor 6) Do well in Social Studies, Humanities 7) Might also consider interning at your local politician's or representative's office.
