  The zeitgeist Movement is a set of ideas, a paradigm, a way to look at the world that is not so hopeless, and a lot of diverse people all over the planet that want the world to survive human foolishness. I don't think 'correct' applies in the way you use it, it's like a theory... fits the available data but if new data appears, it will have to be integrated into a new theory. Basically it is a whole lot of people who really want the world to work like we sense it could. It's based upon current scientific findings, although it is a social movement and much is yet to be investigated. It merely does not accept the dark deranged ideas of 'human nature' that is the common assumption in the global culture. The technology exists, we feel, to make humanity omni-successful in a harmonious and flourishing ecosystem, rather than a parasite that is rapidly destroying itself and the ecosystem. So with the advent of the technology producing the global Internet, these diverse people have gotten together and are trying to help people understand that humanity was evolved over a long period of time and is the result of the ecosystem's inherent effort to exist, to continue, Our ability to create virtual models in our heads has, over the last few thousand years or so, produced a massive confusion of thousands of mental and cultural models that have almost no relationship with reality at all. Because society has been taken over by psychopaths during that few thousand year period, with no idea of the horror they generate, people think humans are all dysfunctional and parasitic and meaningless. But nature does not do anything meaningless... cause/effect does not produce meaningless results. The Movement is just a group of people who want to change the basic paradigms of humanity into something far more sustainable and who realize, for the most part, that it has to be done peacefully and educationally, and nothing else will work. Only a good means can create a good result. And with the tool of science, which is the study of nature, we can find out what is actually real and not a model in people's heads from ancient misunderstanding, and apply that information in a coherent and therefore successful manner, but to do it, it will take educating most of the people in the world. For some, that is scary, because they think everyone will use force and coercion, but we know that won't work and will not make a better world. So we must do it through pointing at the results of science and through rational thought. The Zeitgeist Movement does not care what religion anyone has, nor do we think that the fantasy called 'politics' can create a better world, and we can easily see that the fantasy of the 'money system', purely a virtual model literally forced onto the world and humanity, can only destroy humanity and the ecology. We consider religion irrelevant to the situation on the planet, because it has to be taken without evidence on 'faith' and the solutions will not come from that kind of 'belief'. The solutions will come from applied knowledge of the world, not from some 'otherworldly' source. There are no leaders or followers, because it's not that type of thing, although some mistake the louder and more famous promoters of the movement as leaders, but that is an error since nobody in the movement can 'force' anything on anyone. period. Without coercion, there is no hierarchy. We are a new phenomena on this planet, because the people of the world could never communicate this way before, and we are often misunderstood. Check it out yourself, there is a lot of beneficial knowledge and ideas out there, and you will find a lot within the movement which cannot be considered 'dogma' by anyone, but only the individual ideas that are being considered by the vast membership. We are more like a flock of birds, all individually flying, in control of their direction and speed, which could all fly in different directions, but we choose to fly together for the sake of humanity and the ecology of this planet. In a way, it is a mistake for anyone to say 'I speak for the Movement' because there is no singular 'entity' called The Movement, but we all speak the same general ideas so we do use that phrase. But if anyone says they are in the movement and advocate violence, destruction, uniformity, political or economic theories, or hate, they are either lost in their own delusions or presenting their own ideas as the movement. Some of that is just that most members have just joined and think they understand but don't. A new paradigm is a hard set of concepts to learn, and it takes time. The movement will not have succeeded until most of the people on the planet think in the new science based paradigm, irregardless of their religious beliefs, and their thought and actions start working for bringing humanity back from the edge of extinction.
