What are some ways i can get out of jury duty, legally?

Ive also got off with an excuse from my employer. It was true. It was a 2 person office and I opened the door and handled all the work, but the warehouse job. He'd had to close if I were gone. You can get off with a medical excuse too.

When I was picked for Jury Duty I was vetted with 14 other potential jurors by the attorney's for both sides. It was a "personal injury" case and I responded to plaintiff attorney question about "predispostion toward monetary settlements for pain and injury" by noting that the amounts were determined by the plaintiff's attorney not the plaintiff. That answer didn't just disqualified me. It disqualified all the other potential jurors in the room because they heard my answer. In the area where I live roughly 90% of all attorneys specialize in Personal Injury so I would presume that this means that about 90% of all the cases are "personal injury". It's gotten so bad here that kids are told in drivers education that the reason you have to pull over to let ambulances by is not to prevent an accident with the ambulance it's to provide easy passage for all the attorneys chasing it. What you have to do is look at the nature of the case as it will be explained during the vetting process and give the attorney with the most on the line an answer he/she won't like. With personal injury cases the attorney with the most on the line will be the plaintiff's attorney. With criminal cases it will generally be the defense attorney.

Well, hon, that ain't a valid excuse. You shouldn't lie to get out of jury duty, or say you really don't want to do it again. Chances are, it won't work anyhow. I've known some pretty nutty people (literally nutty) who tried to get out of jury duty based on the fact that they're nutty. And they were picked to serve on a jury. Trying to lie your way out of it before jury duty won't work. And if you lie during voir dire, I guarantee you, they WILL pick you.

It is very unusual to be picked more than once, let alone three times. I haven't been picked ever, and would quite like it. A few days off work, in a different place with different people. Great. Just take a good book to read, because I hear there is alot of sitting around waiting.

that's not a good enough reason. It is your civic DUTY! Do it. If you are ever in court and have to depend on a jury to rule in your favor, would you want to have jurors that just "really don't want to be there"?

Never show up. Unless you get it in certified mail. Which would be you sign for the mail or a postman says he delivers it him self. Because unless you get it in certified mail. They can't prove that you didn't get it.

Have you employer write a letter saying that they do not pay their employees during jury duty. You can be excused on the basis of not being able to earn a living during your time served on the jury.

Tell them you're a democrat and you really care about America, aways try to do the right thing, care about justice, civic pride, and duty . That should do it.
