Why cant Direct Democracy work for the US, its work very well in Switzerland, maybe a Hybrid of the 2 types??

The Internet to vote? People complain now about the ATM-type voting machines.... I could not even imagine what could of fraud could happen with voting online.

If you mean the popular vote, it's not feasible for the U.S. because the bigger states with bigger populations would crush the smaller states; in other words they'd be drowned out through mob rule! I feel the better solution for replacement of the Electoral College would be Proportional Representation, in other words you take however many delegates you get per state win or lose; no winner takes all, it would make presidential candidates work harder to earn your vote and not become too confortable be it Democrat or Republican; which would be a welcome change, if the Voting Rights Act can adhered to and safeguards against fraud can be put in place, this would greatly work; once the GOP at he height of their majority rule blocked a Colorado resolution to institute Proportional Representation, nothing against the Republicans, I'm just against any group of politicians getting too comfortable even the Democrats where my interests lie.

Democrscy doesn't work, full stop. The preasent US Govenrment is a Federal Republic, not a Democracy. All system of Govenment are prone tp tyranny but Democracy assures it. Democracy casts peoples minds on their personal desires and interests, and eventulaly see's the rise of spcial interest groups, and fragmentaiton in society as rival parties band togather to vie for power. The More Democratic the United States becomes, the less free. Even you want to abolish freedom by makign voting compulsory. Freedom is not assured by Democracy, but rather you create a Tyrnany of the masses. Freedom is only secured by just laws and an equitable Govenrment.EVen an absolute monarchy where one man is the law can be free if said man was just, and alloed freedom. The trouble with this is, however, that a single man can eaisly be a tyrant. We need, rather, an external law code, and a mean of keeping any leadership in line. We also need limited Govenment. Not Democracy, as thats all-pervasive Govenrment. We need a Govenrment that merley acts to settle disputes between individuals and that regulates trade and secured the boarders, defendign the people from all threats, both forign and domestic. Then, allow peopel the freedom of choice on how they live their own lives, getting invovled only in matters of public concern and welfare. The democracy works in U.S. , because from there begun and spread into the world. The democracy that we see in other countries be-sight U.S.are just put their oun democracy to work. There are not two democracy-es the same , even if they have the same ruth, because the states and people are different . Thanks
