Where do I find free music that is legal in the states?

Can the United States still be called a democracy in the light of recent events?

  • Those american financial companies back in 2008 funneled billions of dollars into the pockets of rich banking tycoons at the expense of the public, right? And Megaupload provided content to the public at the expense of rich film and music tycoons, right? And the latter is illegal and the american government shut the company down, while the former is legal and the american government bailed out the companies for more billions of dollars, right? The word 'democracy' was originally greek and meant, literally, 'rule by the people', and the american government insists that the United States is a democracy. But it seems like the american government also persists in legislation and action that benefits rich tycoons at the expense of the public. Is it really the will of the public that their own interests shall be marginalized so that rich tycoons can become richer? If not, on what basis can we still call the United States a democracy? Do you think maybe we need to find a word that means 'rule by rich tycoons and their lobbyists' to use instead? (Note: Before you get your panties in a twist, I'm not attacking the United States here. If anything, I'm questioning a paradigm that is damaging what the United States originally stood for, and has also infected many other countries, including my own.)

  • Answer:

Go live in North Korea, Iran, or Zimbabwe for a year. Then see if you still think democracy is dead in North America. Yes there is a ruling class, and there always will be. Every country has a ruling class, and they have more money and power than you and I do. Many countries tried to eliminate such a ruling class, some violently, and look how they turned out. I'm talking about countries like former USSR, China, Burma, former Yugoslavia, Cambodia, and a few others. In all those cases, the "people's liberators" quickly became the ruling class - and they obviously liked it because they stopped "sharing the wealth" before they even started. A true democracy, where you and I are just as "ruling class" as everybody else, can only exist on paper. Someone always feels entitled to more than the other guy, someone always gets greedy, and someone always figures out a way to work things in their favour.

It has never been a Democracy, it has always been a Representative Republic. A democracy consists of two wolves and a lamb voting on what's for lunch. In our Republic the Lamb has an assault rifle. We don't look forward to a confrontation with the infiltrating Marxist elements who want to destroy what our founders created but in the creation they anticipated this. We will fight to the last man before you limp wrist hand wringing tippy toe leg wetting degenerate delusional liberal socialist pickpockets get any more control here. Watch and be amazed at out first shot in November. Your master Marxist Obamo will be selling siding door to door in January... Bwahahah
