How many nations are members of The United Nations General Assembly ?

How many women members are there in the UNITED NATIONS?

  • i wanna know how many women work in the UN.i mean the main executive board or sumthing..need it in one day fr a project..PLEEEESH help!!!

  • Answer:

On the occasion of International Women's Day the UN is called for more women in top national leadership role and in parliaments. Much like their predecessors the league of nations, the un is all show and no go. In their defense, and I can't believe I'm defending this useless, powerless group of figureheads, the members are chosen and sent by the individual countries, so they actually don't have any oversight in this matter. And before anyone takes offense at the slur, Even President has been calling what is going on in Darfur what it is, Genocide. By stepping back to let the UN do the right thing he has taken all kinds of abuse, but the impotent UN won't call it what it is because by their charter, if they do, they would have to do something, and what would that actually be? Look at their record, Nothing

In the 61 years since the United Nations was founded, no woman has ever held the position of Secretary-General, despite the fact that there have been many qualified women candidates. Among the many possible candidates, there are 18 women who have been identified by Equality Now as women who have served in positions that give them relevant experience for the job of Secretary-General.
