Why are (A majority) of Americans so serious and fake about everything?

• It all has to be SERIOUS. Everyone has to where a suit, tv commercials are boring and SERIOUS and they TRY to be funny. Its all about being FAKE. "OMG that hair is SOOOOO cute like, its so like ADORABLE!" Kids far too over mature, condom ads on cartoon network (LOL) and if you do something funny or joke around your're looked upon as a HOOLIGAN! Treat you all nice just to be friendly but really they could hate you and think the rest of the world can fu*k off. Medical ads have this serious 1 minute long disclaimer. So many shallow people who are stuck up and too ignorant to use the metric system. You say you have a carefree country but all you can do is worry about your wars and blame obama for all of your countrys sh*t. They're so unfriendly, backstabbing, fake, they assume things about one another, are players, tricky, fierce, they're just horrible people. If you want a more honest description, look at the holy bible and how it describes the end of days and there's the American people for you. But despite all of that the thing that gets me the most is the seriousness of Americans. There's an illusion that America is friendlier and more laid back and NOT as serious as the rest of the world.....but that's not real. Americans are FAKE and that fakeness comes across like it's nice, and fun and bubbly, but it's all an act because of them being self-conscious, Hollywood brainwashed, and that type of crap. This at least is what it's like in the Midwest area. Is this how America is elsewhere too? It's disguisting. Even our "Idols" are fake and horrible examples. Our political leaders suck too. Our general public sucks and doesn't care. We live in a country that doesn't care about itself, it's people, and the leaders don't care either. No one cares, everyone's serious, and on top of it all, fake, and pretend like it's all good, when underneath it all, they know it's not. WHAT the f is up America!!!??? I moved to America and have been living here for three years, so don't deny it. Don't go saying "If you don't like America then leave" because I can do whatever the fu*k I want, regardless of your opinion and of how much I want to leave already. Don't think I am serious. This is a question WORTH being serious. Nothing fun about ignorance, shallow-mindedness and falseness. And for the love of god, DON'T COMPARE YOURSELF TO EUROPE. Thats EXACTLY what Americans always do. I have traveled to Greece, Italy, Spain, all around Britain. They are all laid back and funny. Not all Americans are like that and I am NOT trying to generalize here, but that's just my opinion on (At least the Midwest) America.

  I have travelled extensively in the US. I agree with your underlying point- It all stems from deep-rooted insecurity. I made just 100's of "best friends forever" in the US.... JUST HOW THE HELL DO THEY EVER KNOW? I can't trust people that can't drink, not because they can't physically handle it, but because they are too uptight to risk making an **** of themselves at night and then doing business tomorrow! They have to maintain an outward persona at all times and at all costs because everyone else does... Of the few genuine people I met, they were on the whole depressed, well-travelled and taking drugs! (I'm not joking). The worst people I met were barmaids... So bloody open and honest for a $5 tip you wanted to puke on the spot at their false sentiment. But again, that's the fear and insecurity coming through- it works with the punters, so the punters like it cause I get tipped.... And the wheel turns. They are all very lonely and frightened people on the whole, and in today's political theatre, who can really blame them? I have not been back for a few years now, and luckily I no longer have to.
