Do you have food shortages in the country you live in?
-
Here in the UK we dont realy have any food shortages as such. you may get the odd item difficult to get hold of for various reasons. One reason an item may be missing is people hear about something on the news and "panic" buy" You can get a strike by suppliers and items can go short but that is it. On the other hand people in the UK tend to "waste" food by buying to much, or supermarkets are over supplied and throw away unwanted/dated food "shamefull" Do you get any food shortages in your country state were you live and what items please! *** Perhaps a new problem at the moment is rising prices and fuel costs making food more expensive.

Answer:
It is shameful that people here in UK waste so much food, its about time we got back to buying only food we actually are going to eat. Fresh produce as opposed to the rubbish that comes in packets. And there is something called a freezer which many homes have so food can be stored until needed. Don't understand this waste at all. If we were at war like in WW2, there wouldn't be any choice but to only buy essentials. Time to have a major change, save on this wasteful packaging for a start.

I agree. We don't seem to have a shortage in the UK. I suspect its a good excuse for supermarkets to pump up the price. I don't really think we waste that much food, if I need to stock up I make sure it can be frozen.

I live in the United States in California. We have almost run out of rice here and people have been looting markets for rice.

There isn't any food shortages here in Singapore. But the prices are rising. And they're all blaming the high cost of fuel and inflation.

we don't have a food shortage in the US. Look at the stats for the overweight people over here, it is a staggering number and thats so sad.. Even our little children are overweight and lack of exercise is part of the problem. So, you can see our big problem.

Food shortage I don't think so. Petrol hike is everywhere - here in Malaysia it is RM2.70 per liter, still not bad and we have our own oil well. My advice use public transport. Here in Malaysia they are banning (trying to I guess) the national gas PETRONAS (the oil sponsor for BMW Sauber). I do not know how - it can work and it might not. Actually I have not feel the hike yet, may be I am earning just for myself, I do not have access bagage. I pity the families - everyone feel the heat. Then again people here I consider them rich, what they cannot get here, they buy somewhere else. Then again those who are poor are not really poor - there are so much to do to earn their living. e.g empty lands that can be use for farming.

We have a great shortage of spiritual food in nearly all countries of the world, and everyone is starving due to lack of spiritual nourishment. Hence the great material push and waste worldwide. No one is accepting that this world is not ours and we should only accept that which are set aside as our quota, not accepting other things knowing that they do not belong to us. Why should food or anything become more expensive? It is provided by nature. Everything was there before we came and will be there after we go. Man is just manipulating what exist. Then charging a fortune for it. The same loaf of bread that cost 9d old money 50 years ago, is coming from the same place and should not cost any more. Price inflation, and everything to do with it, is completely false. Just a great big HYPE!!! I just got a new pair of specs in India a few weeks ago for £7. and that's me getting ripped cause I'm a westerner. The same specs in this country would cost me over £250. WHY???? Mans greed!!! Food grows in the earth, fruit grows on the trees, cows give milk after eating grass. Are we gonna get charged for breathing the air next? Yes if someone thinks he can manage to sell the idea. It's actually happening in a subtle way. WE should only accept that which is necessary for keeping body and soul together. Enough for now! Take care. Best wishes. Gouranga
