How much money has been donated to Haiti since the earthquake?

How can I help the Haiti Earthquake?

  • I am in my tween-teens, and I don't have THAT much money. My parents say that if I study hard and become a doctor or something, I can help; but I cant stand watching those children and people die in the earthquake. Even if I donate money to UNICEF, it might just help children, which is OK with me, but I want to specifically help Haiti for now. I have donated $20 to the UNICEF box before.

I feel exactly the same way...you can text HAITI to 90999 to donate 10$ to the red cross relief fund, that's a good place to start. I'm going to be donating to a very specific ministry, to an orphanage that I stayed at this last summer on a mission trip. They want to raise $12,000 to send food and supplies over and loads more to rebuild the orphanage which was completely destroyed-- they're living in tents. I want to donate to them because I know them and I know how earnest they are and I feel totally good about my money in their hands, knowing that they will use every penny to help, maybe save the lives of, my friends in Haiti. their website is mission-haiti.org I, too, am a teen with no income, but I find that i can actually work that to my advantage. I find fund raisers are the fastest and easiest ways to help. My friends and I raised over $600 in one night alone serving coffee and cake and accepting donations. I'm going to be doing several fund raisers throughout the year-- dinner parties, car washes, garage sales, dances, karaoke nights...

I applaud you on your efforts to get involved, you're off to a good start. You can also donate blood with the Red Cross and clothing you no longer need and can goods.

I am the same way I just turned 19 and i cant do much but I want to help them so much, I just cant stand watching those people suffer. My plan has always been to become a medical doctor and join Docters without borders- you can research this organization and what they do. For now you cant do much but just pray for them and donate. I know a good website that you can donate to it is sixdegrees.org. It is a website where you can donate not just to Haiti but to any other charity that you feel strongly about and it is 100% legitimate. It;s good to know there are people out there that still care about other people, good luck!

I'm glad you donated. Remember you can also donate clothes, shoes, water, food, medical supplies..they need EVERYTHING they can get. My husband and I haven't worked in almost a year but we did collect things from around the house. We have an avocado tree and sold them for $1 each and made $15 in an hour or so, that's going to them as well. I would disagree 1000% with the person who said they are satan worshipers...if you see them on the news they are singing Hallelujah! Why? Because they believe, trust, and faith in God. As do I.
