What happened on December 7?

December 7, 1941. What and why, happened on that date?

  • December 7, 1941. What is the importance on that date?

  • Answer:

Japan made an unprovoked attack on our naval base at pearl harbor in Hawaii. Most of our pacific fleet was put out of commission but they made one huge mistake. They didn't bother with the submarines and that tiny part of our pacific navy immediately took the war to the Japanese homeland. By the end of the war the subs, which consisted of 1% of the US Navy had destroyed 55% of the Japanese Navy and merchant fleet. The cost was high, 1 in 5 American submariners were lost in the war. We lost 52 subs.

Really? The Japanese Empire attacked Pearl Harbor in a surprise attack. Don't you remember the audio of President Roosevelt's speech in which he said "a date which will live in infamy?"

Pearl Harbor before this america probably wouldn't have entered the war because they were making too much money from it. WW2 actually brought America out of the great depression and they emerged as a super power afterwords.

Pearl Harbour. Japan didn't use nuke. The only way to defeat Japan was with nuke. But ... One of the nations who is banning nuke but used nuke is America.
