What are the "disqualifying mental disabilities" for government jobs?

Is Julia Gillard "welfare cheats" just a distraction from the main issues?

• Is this discussion about "crackdown on welfare cheats" really necessary? What issue is being hidden whilst everyone is being distracted by all the latest hoopla? We all know that there are some that will always rort the system to their advantage, but is this renewed interest in "welfare cheats" going to only hurt the genuine job hunters out there; those of us being overlooked for jobs because of age, injuries and disabilities? I am having a hell of a job trying to find a job with my age and back/leg injury yet I have not applied for a Disability Support Pension, not only because it is considered not severe enough anyway to qualify. I rely on daily anti-inflammatories and pain killers to remain mobile and I am not in the "desirable" age bracket. I am the one chasing the job network agencies, not the other way around. I apply for and occasionally win temporary jobs sometimes that I should not do (against doctors instructions) but do so for financial reasons (of course). I cannot divulge my disability as I would not stand one iota of a chance if I did. It would not be a risk to an employer anyway as it would come under the category "pre-existing disability" if I did have an injury whilst working. Any job offers/suggestions please? I have a great background in administration, clerical, secretarial, computer, market research for Government, Semi-Government, educational and private industries ... with some breaks in the resume of course.
