Timothy Treadwell - why no Darwin award?

I checked the Darwin award site, and Timothy Treadwell does not have a Darwin award. I think he certaintly deserves one. I suggested it to them online but never got an answer. Anyone with me on this?

Ohhhhh.....I felt bad for the guy. I mean, he really believed in his mission to be with and live among bears. And he did manage to go unscathed for 10 yers or more? What he did was a bit crazy to most....but he really felt this was his calling. Now the Darwin Award should go to all those who participate in the annual Run with the Bulls!!!! Thats nuts...........

He may not have won a Darwin Award depending on the competition that year (which seems to be increasing each year incidentally), but he certainly qualified as a nominee, so I'm totally with you. That tiger "tamer" in Vegas would have been a candidate too had he died.
