14 year old male with Polycythemia?

Could a 14 year old (male) be charged with statutory rape if he had sex with a 15 year old (female)?

    In the U.S., it varies from state to state. In a few states, the older person could be charged with a crime. But in most places, it is not a crime because there's only one year of age difference between the two. Note that sex between underage people is legally *never* consensual, because a minor is not old enough to give consent.

Here in the UK, the charge of statutory rape would only apply if the younger partner was (I think) aged 12 or younger. If both partners are older than that, but either or both are younger than the age of consent, which is 16 here, it's just classed as unlawful sex. If you're in the United States I imagine it would depend on the state it occurred in.

No. In most states (except South Carolina, I think) both of these ages are legally below the age of consent; this would be treated at most as a child-on-child crime and processed through juvenile court - since it wasn't rape, probably not processed at all. Statutory rape is a status offense, and only if a person is legally an adult do status offenses apply.

Nobody would get in trouble. Its only stagitory rape if one person is 18 or over and I think if the other person is 16 or older it doesnt matter and you can have a 17 yr old with a 19 yr old but nothing younder or older.

That is a very interesting question and the answers are excellent. I wonder what the real truth is but i think that they all hit on the right idea. There must be some consequence for under- age sexual relations.

No...statutory rape only applies when an 18-yr old or older has sex with someone under 18. Plus you can't rape the willing.
