How to write an article... please help?

Hi, I'm a member of the air cadets and am trying to write an article about a manchester airport visit we went on recently but am not very good at article writing :S. We visited the air traffic control, watched planes taking off and landing, watched the radars as the people directed the planes around and some of us were able to listen in on the air traffic control talking to pilots telling them which runway to land on etc. please can you help me with writing the article or give me a few tips to make it easier. Thanks.

"Zoom and Boom, but the Blast was in the Room." Use a snappy lead like something above and then your first paragraph states who, what, when, where, why. Then take three of the best/interesting items - in descending order - and describe them as if the reader was with you and you're the tour guide. The last graph sums everything up....be original, since this is a feature story.
