Is Readers Digest as popular as it used to be?

• I read Readers Digest for many years. Over this period, I have watched it turn in to one BIG AD MAG. There were so many advertisement, cardboard pages, that I actually started tearing out most of this crap so me and my family could actually enjoy it. I finally let my subscription expire. I read where they were have financial trouble and subscriptions were in freefall... It's been years now, and I just bought a subscription. My first Readers Digest just arrived. It is PACKED with ads. Of the 220 pages, all but around 67 pages are junk mail ads. This will be my last subscription. Over the years, the ads consumed more and more of this small magazine. Then you would read where their subscriptions were going down. As their subscribers left, the more ads filled RD. Instead of finding better material, hiring a new team that could fill their mag with stories, jokes, and information people would pay for, they watched their subscribers flee, and LOADED the mag with ads to cover their losses. I think they are destroying themselves, and as the advertisements consume their magazine, more subscribers will leave and their demise is imminent. What do YOU THINK.......

  AGREED!!! I used to love reading it too. I guess that's what happens when they started doing well and could charge more for their ads and that led to more money from more ads.
