How to get on the news?

How can we get a new news network that gives us unbiased news, without a corporate agenda? is that so wrong?

  • i am so frustrated that we have corporations feeding us the news the way they see it. I want a new news network. how would one go about starting a new independent network funded by "clean" money, that is not based on profit - because that is one thing that corrupts a news network into "info-tainment." I imagine some anti-trust laws must be made before that ever happens, eh? would that ever happen? do you people care about the news media - a functioning part of our democracy? the press should not be a profit-based business, and the news media owners should not be treated and traded like a business.

  • Answer:

A clean-money network could never hope to compete with ad-funded major news corporations - you need LOTS of money for a TV station. Also you make it sound so easy - sometimes even when you try hard, its impossible to be completely unbiased. I mean even with anti-trust laws it would still be too ambiguous where you can cut the line. Since media networks have become corporations, the most effective way to change them would be to change what most people demand of them as viewers - if we got more people thinking critically then it would reflect on our media. Personally I think there are some networks that are decent - I think the BBC isn't bad.

Try getting your news form sites like NHK, BBC World and Channel NewsAsia. These forums are straight forward and let you make up your own mind by not confusing facts and opinions....

Then quit buying so many dang iPods and other goods they advertise during news(commercial breaks). I don't think it's just media that some how degraded. Ethics among all of us seemed to have decline. Coruptions in corporate community, politics..etc. Widening gap between rich and poor. Glorification of excessive life styles, instant riches. If we want to see higher quality news we can't just blame news organizations and corporations who own them.
