How do I become an editorial journalist?

How do you become an automotive journalist?

  • What do you have to do to become an automotive journalist like in Motortrend and Car and Driver and test drive all those cars and then write about them? Thanks for the the help

  • Answer:

First, you have to become a "normal" journalist. For most people, this means four years of college and then working for a small-town newspaper to get experience. You then move on to larger papers and ideally, to a paper large enough to have an automative article that you write. Once you have the experience, contact the magazines. Mike Honeycutt
