I was a journalism major in college, and honestly, it's a hard business to break into. Make sure you get an internship in college, write for your college paper, do anything you can to develop a clip file. Journalismjobs.com is one place to look for job, they list jobs in broadcast, print media etc. Good luck, be wiling to take a job that isn't ideal and do your best there in order to advance elsewhere!

you can work at mc donalds or the car wash, take your pick!

In the retail industry would be your best bet for fashion. Unfortunately for you, the garment industry in the US is losing jobs to cheap labour overseas. Unless you can come on in a high end fashion house, chances are slim. Journalism - Newspapers, TV etc...

Almost anytime type you want. Most people do not work in the field they studied. Follow your heart for your major. My BS is a double major in Geography and Geology. I work as a system's analyst. The foundation of my career was lain by college internships and part-time employment.

Whatever job you choose, make sure you have a ton of passion for it--don't focus on the paycheck bc that isn't what is going to get you going for 30 years. Most people who are successful start out very humbly in a low-level, but eye-opening entry level or internship position. Or they go to a great school--my college roommate went to the University of Missouri Journalism school and that is a good ole boy club for journalist if there ever was one. She is now in promotions (15 year career in the industry) doing what she loves writing brochures, ad copy, pamphlets, etc. She helps open new businesses and grow existing ones--and has a blast doing it! Good luck and remember most people don't do what they majored in in college--enjoy your journey!
