Where is the comment section for Yahoo news?

Why is the comment section no longer visible on yahoo news articles?

  • This afternoon I was about to post a comment on a yahoo news article and suddenly the comments section was gone. The comment section is not visible on any news story. When I checked my mail I received updates to my previous postings but when I click on the link in my email for the posting in the comment section again the comments section is still missing and I'm not able to see my posting or the response to it. Did yahoo eliminate this feature or am I being targeted? There is no information anywhere on Yahoo site about the missing comments section either. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

    Well I'm glad that I found this, because I also was getting paranoid, thinking that maybe I'd posted comments that were contrary to yahoo policy, though that seemed doubtful based on some of the stuff that some people get away with there. It would surprise me if this had anything to do with complaints or threats by Jews, or Israel, as there are still more negative comments directed toward Muslims, Arabs, -Islam, etc posts than toward Jews and Israel. I wonder how many people around the world have the same question as we do, but haven't found this site?

Yahoo claims it's down for maintenance. From their online help site: Commenting Temporarily DisabledDue to site maintenance, some Yahoo! webpages may have comments and other social features temporarily disabled. We appreciate your patience while we restore these features. [sic]

ha ha, no, you're not being targeted. Mind you, your question isn't totally paranoid. There has been increasing pressure on yahoo by AIPAC and pro-Israel groups to close the yahoo comment posts as many people write anti Israel posts. Yahoo news comments is one of the few remaining open forums where people can express their views. As Yahoo customers, we must fight to keep this very democractic public forum open.

I am wondering this myself, I bet a lot of us are. It has been very buggy for the last few days, for me anyway. a Comment I made was showing 20 reply's, but I could only read 5....strange as hell.

Oh, great. Now I find out they're down. I thought it was that new Google Security feature that Google just rolled out beginning Mar. 1st. I "opted out" of all of the Google features but was unaware of the ramifications of doing so would be. Later, after I did that the comments disappeared which left me scratching my head and trying to figure out exactly what feature it disabled. Big waste of my time! NOTE: I did have the comments section until about 2:30 PM (EST) on Mar. 1st.

They're being threatened by lawsuits from jewish groups, because they want to try and control any negative comments on the web and are filing federal lawsuits against any site who hosts hurtful comments towards jews.
