What are the best schools for undergraduate journalism and English?

• Which has the best undergraduate journalism program in terms of prestige, training, and job offers: Missouri University, Northwestern University, or Syracuse University? Also, according to rankings, which school in the U.S. has the best undergraduate English program?

  I have been out of the loop for a while, but I know in the early 90s Northwestern and University of Missouri, Columbia had the best reputation for Journalism. I also know in the 90s the local police in Columbia, Missouri were a real problem for students at this legendary party school- especially Boone County Missouri deputies (scary people). Not sure if the random stops and general harrassment is still going on, but rural Missouri is not famous for tolerance. Chicago (Northwestern) might be a better place in general- more expensive than rural Missouri, but certainly more fun and relaxing, multicultural environment. I think Syracuse is by far the most expensive place of your choices. It took me eleven years to pay off my student loans- might consider that also in your choices.
